Eunice Campbell 19392020

Eunice Campbell
1939-2020
CAMPBELL, Eunice Grace (nee
Timm)
Eunice, aged 80, of Guelph, Ontario, passed away late
Thursday evening, April 23rd, 2020 at Guelph General Hospital with her
oldest daughter and son by her side. She is predeceased by
her loving husband, Roy Campbell who died in 1999 and to whom she was
married for almost 33 years. She is survived by her three children:
Heather, Pauline Grace and Ian (Sarah Rowan); and two grandchildren
Gwyneth and Kinsey. She is also survived by her two sisters Barbara
Gentry (Peter) of Louisville, KY and Margaret Shaver of Barrie, ON.
She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew: Leissa, Maria,
Stewart and Laura.
Eunice was born in Buffalo, NY, on Oct. 28, 1939 to a
carpenter of German descent, George Timm and a teacher, Grace Timm,
who was originally from Sus, England. She was the eldest of three
children and became a Christian at a young age. Her family moved to
Orillia, Ontario in the mid-1940s. That is where she eventually met a
missionary from Jamaica on furlough named Roy. They were married on
Aug. 6, 1966 in Orillia, Ontario and not long after, they headed off
together to the mission field where they were involved in church
planting, teaching and preaching in Belize and then Jamaica. Children
were born to them along the way: Heather in Belize, Pauline Grace in
Canada and Ian in Jamaica. Political and economic turmoil in Jamaica
during the mid-1970s encouraged them to return to Canada. This time
they decided to raise their family in the milder Canadian climate of
Vancouver Island. Eunice began a career with the Royal Bank of Canada
in Victoria, BC where she started out as a teller and then eventually
became a student loans officer. In 1993, Roy and Eunice moved to
Ontario to be closer to their extended families. Eunice continued to
work for the Royal Bank, first in Mississauga and then at the Student
Loans Centre in Guelph, where she eventually retired from. She was
always a highly active member of her church wherever she was
attending. Eunice was passionate about many things (in no particular
order): knitting clothes for her children and grandchildren, studying
the Bible, discipling women in the Christian faith, prayer, genealogy,
hymns, history, reading, jigsaw puzzles, showing photos and telling
stories of her miraculous granddaughters and causes like the
persecuted church. As you can see, she lived a very full life. She
will be greatly missed by all of us.
The family thanks the amazing health care professionals of
Guelph General Hospital for their care of Eunice in her last three
months, while she bravely fought health challenges. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions to the Foundation of Guelph General
Hospital would be appreciated. Private family funeral and
burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park will be held this
week.
