Eugene Russell “John” Schofield
1934-2020
Eugene Russell “John” Schofield – age 86,
passed away at home on Thursday, September 17, 2020. Born in
Baxter’s Harbour, he was the son of the late William and
Jessie (Rogers) Schofield. John worked for LE Shaw in Coldbrook as a
heavy equipment operator. He loved gardening and enjoyed
sharing his vegetables. He was a loving husband and father and will be
missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 32
years, Patricia (Cole); step-daughters, Sherry (Dr. Mike) Innis,
Nelson, BC; Sylvia Usling, Stouffville, ON; step-son, Steve Medicraft,
Red Deer, AB; nine step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter;
brothers, Cecil (Doris), New Minas and Edwin (Maureen), Cambridge;
many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Steven
Schofield; sister, Margaret Schofield; brothers, Wilfred and Scotty
(in infancy). Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation. A public graveside service will be held in the
Baxter’s Harbour Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September
25, 2020, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Please feel free to bring
a folding chair should you wish to sit during the service. Donations
in memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
