Ethel Syretha Hynes
May 7, 1920 – October 14, 2020
Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, age 100 years. Predeceased by spouse Francis; parents Caleb & Mary Ann Ellis; sisters Ruth Pickford, Helen Flight, Marilyn Burden, and infant sister Jean. Leaving to mourn her five children, Robert (Dorothy), Glenys Newport (Clifford); Brenda Backman (Charles, deceased), Corrine (Glen Dawe), and Syretha Michelle (Jim Dunlop); nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitations on Sunday, October 18th from 10am-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 19th at 11am. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
