Obituary
ESTHER ORLA MCQUARRIE August 2, 1925 – May 5, 2020
Esther Orla McQuarrie of Swan River, MB passed away on May 5, 2020 at the age of 94.
Esther was born August 2, 1925 in Shoal Lake, MB to Tom and Margaret Dandridge as the eldest of three girls.
Esther’s sense of fun and adventure defined her life. In 1944 Esther left Shoal Lake to join the army and was stationed in Ottawa during WW11. After the war she went to Winnipeg where she met and married Donald Leslie McQuarrie on June 1, 1946. Together they had 2 daughters, Sharon and Dianne. They moved numerous times during Don’s 27 year career with the RCAF. After retirement, they moved to Olds, AB where they resided for 10 years before moving to Minnedosa, MB in 1984. Esther moved to Swan River, MB in 2016 after Don and Sharon’s passing. Her time in Swan River has been filled with more travel, adventures and more giggles than can be counted.
Esther is predeceased by her parents, her husband Don, daughter Sharon, and son-in-law Sam Stewart.
Esther is survived by her sisters Charlotte Stewart (children and families) and Florence Dandridge;
daughter Dianne (Tom) Adkins of Kingston, ON; son in law Alfred Nielsen; grandchildren Heather, Clifford and Jennifer; great grandchildren Sara and Adam.
