Esther Darlene Graves
1958-2020
Darlene Graves of Riverview, NB
passed away on Friday June 12, 2020 with her husband and sister in law
Shannon Graves by her side.
Darlene, as she liked to be
called, was born in Kentville, NS and was the daughter of Esther
(Vickers) and the late Jack Graves. She worked at Sobeys for 36 years
both in New Minas, NS and in Moncton, NB after being asked to move
there in 2010 by her future husband.
She loved to travel and loved to
go the parks in the area walking. The ocean and the waves were nice
places to just relax and enjoy. Darlene was shy and quiet and enjoyed
spending her time with her 2 Siamese cats Jasper and Truman. Gardening
was a passion of hers and she enjoyed just sitting out in the gazebo
and watching the lights come on at night around her gardens in the
back yard.
I would like to thank Shannon
Graves for coming to help me care for Darlene in her last days.
Darlene’s face lit up when she seen her, and I knew she was
happy to be home. Also, a thank you to the Moncton Hospital and all
the first responders, nurses and staff, who took the time to be
helpful to us in our times of need.
Besides her mother she will be dearly missed by her husband
Danny Ward, brothers Jack (Sonny), Bradford (Lorna), Lloyd, Eldon and
Kevin (Michelene) sister in law Shannon Graves. Besides her
father, she was predeceased by a brother Kenneth.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no visitation or service
at this time. Donations made to (charity) would be
appreciated by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted
to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007). The interment will take place at
Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, NS. Donation to The Friends of The
Moncton Hospital Foundation or The Canadian Red Cross would be
