Obituary
Ester Laput was loved in life and will be remembered in death.
Ester, affectionately known as “Tingting” to family and friends,was born in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines to Perfecto O. Laput and Arcadia Along Laput on August 20, 1941. She went to high school at Misamis Oriental High School and graduated in 1956. She then went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree, graduating Cum Laude, from St. Francis Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines in 1960. Ester also attended Ryerson University taking a Computer Programming Course in 1986. She lived in Toronto, Ontario and worked as a Special Services Analyst for the Government of Ontario for 25 years. Ester enjoyed squash, tennis and spending time at St. Clemens Catholic Church in Etobicoke, Ontario in prayer, adoration, meditation and teaching RCIA courses for persons who desire to join the Catholic faith. She is predeceased by her sister Amelia Laput Baesa; and her brothers, Emmanuel Laput, Sergio Laput and Perfecto Laput Jr. of the Philippines. Ester is survived by the children and grandchildren of sister Amelia Laput Baesa; sister Dulce Bentham (David W. Bentham) and their son Philip Bentham (Steffanie MacDonald Bentham) and their precious one year old grandson Mathis William David Bentham; Teoquilda Laput Pabilona (Victor Pabilona) and their children and grand children; Paolo Laput (Marites Veloso Laput) and their children and grandchildren; Eufrocina Laput Wedge (Guy Wedge) and their children Vanessa (Adam Wozney) and Ian Wedge. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Parish (2424 24 Ave NW) on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 11:00am with the Rev. Ben Marino presiding. Reception to follow in the church hall.
