Erwin Kwast
September 09, 1925 – September 26, 2020

Erwin passed away peacefully on September 26, 2020 at the age of 95. Predeceased by his wife Arendje (Renny) in 2014, he is already deeply missed by his daughter Anita Hoekstra (Garry) and son Edward (Gabriele) and grandsons Shawn Lauder, and Andrew, Jason and Ryan Kwast. Erwin is also predeceased by siblings Else, Meta, and Gustav, and he leaves behind his four surviving siblings in Germany; Helene, Irene, Margaret and Adolf. Erwin is also remembered with love by Mary and Tom DeBoer of Grosse Pointe MI and Bill and Tilly DeVries of Oakville and many nephews and nieces from near and far.
Erwin saw a lot in his long life, and was the consummate family man. Upon retiring in 1984 he and his wife Renny began an annual trek to Florida to enjoy the warmth of weather and community that they found there. He became an accomplished bocce player and loved long walks on the beach.
