Ernest Stephen Takacs 2020

It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dr. Ernie Takacs of Edmonton, Alberta on December 31, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Patricia. He cherished his children, Trudy (Blaine), Tracy (Darren) and Trevor (Stacey) and adored his grandchildren, Stephan (Niki), Curtis (Bara), Ginelle, our Angel Lindsay, Tyra, Tiana and Tamara.
Also left to mourn his loss are his brothers, Dr. Gerald Takacs and Dr. Frank Takacs (Amy).
Ernie was predeceased by his parents Steve and Anne Takacs and his granddaughter Lindsay.
Ernie dedicated 55 years of service to the medical profession in Peace River and Edmonton. We are very proud that he was respected by his colleagues and patients for the kind and compassionate care that he provided.
In Ernie’s younger years, he was a very successful athlete. In Hockey, he was a Provincial Champion with the Maple Leaf Athletic club. In Football, he had a successful career with the Edmonton Wild Cats and University of Alberta Golden Bears. He continued to enjoy the sports of fastball, golf and fly fishing. His ultimate passions were gardening and art collecting. Ernie loved his family and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street NW Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in the name of Dr. Ernie Takacs to the charity of your choice.
