Memorial Donation
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Friday, January 17, 2020, Ernest Patrick Layman at the age of 87. Predeceased by his loving wife Caroline Layman (nee Dawe); daughter Judy Abbott (husband Peter); parents Isabel and Leo Layman; sisters: Bridget Shute, Angela Woods, Isabel Layman, Kay Mayo, Irene Layman and Gen Adams; brothers: Patrick, Michael, Leo, Gregory and John. Left to mourn with broken hearts are his children: Wayne (Geraldine), Barb Nolan (Mike), Ernie (Clare) and Wally (Linda) with whom he resided; sadly missed and forever remembered by special brother Wally; grandchildren: Nakita, Brooke, Michael, Nicholas, Krista and Jillian; special great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Chloe, Hunter, Lorne, Emma, Hudson and Cameron; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention; special family friend Ron Noftall. Special thanks to his family Doctor Andrew Hutton for his excellent care over the years and Dr. Hutton’s secretary Bev Bragg; nurse Rhonda Webber and the staff of 7 East St. Clare’s for their compassionate care during his recent hospital stay; and to Father Wayne Dohey for his final blessing. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the Gathering Place in memory of Ernest. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road with arrangement times to be announced.
