Ernest Joseph MacDonald January 10th 1931 October 12th 2020

The death occurred peacefully at the Colville Manor, Souris on Monday, October 12, 2020 of Ernest Joseph MacDonald in his 90th of Bayfield, PE. He was a loving and caring father to Jimmy, Mary and Ethel MacDonald. He is predeceased by his dear son Frank MacDonald and survived by Dorothy MacDonald (nee Longaphie). Lovingly remembered by his grandsons Tyler Holland (Kaitlyn) and Cole MacDonald. Although Ernest was a beloved father, grandfather and brother, he will be remembered for his kindness and compassion toward others. As an avid reader, Ernie enjoyed history and stories from the past; mostly about fishing as he spent many years on the sea in North Lake. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Ernest is survived by his sisters Roma MacDonald, Lois Gregory (George) and brother Kevin Conway. Predeceased by his parents Frank MacDonald and Ethel Conway (nee Peters), siblings Ruth Crispin (Earl), Mary Irene, Frank, Clifford MacDonald (Yolanda) and brother-in-law Hugo “Don” Malfara.
A funeral mass and life celebration will take place at the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield for invited guests only with interment to follow in the church cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of Ernie can be made to the Souris Minor Hockey Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
