Obituary of Erma Jean Mumford
Erma Jean Mumford (Johns), 72 of Lake Loon, NS.
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Erma Jean (Johns) Mumford, born December 14, 1947, in Halifax. She passed away in the QEII Health Sciences Center surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
She was an active member of St. Luke’s Mothers Union. Erma was a long-time member of Kinettes. She retired from the Royal Bank of Canada. Post retirement, she enjoyed lunches with her lifetime friends. Erma, her family and beach family spent many summers enjoying their cottage in East Linden.
She was the daughter of the late Anna (McDaniel) and Hartford Johns.
Erma is survived by her husband Keith Mumford; children David (Karen) Mumford, Windsor; Suzanne Mumford (Bruce), Miramichi, NB; Lisa (Greg) Foote, Cole Harbour; Jeanine Mumford, Cole Harbour; John (Lesley) Mumford, Cole Harbour; grandchildren Ashley, Matthew, Daniel, Savanna, Zachary, Nolan, Ryan, Grace, Kelsey, Faith, Anna, Brayden and Harrison; brother James (Marjorie) Johns, Lower Sackville; sister Marlene Johns, Bedford; and nephews.
A Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 6:30-8:30 pm in St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 9 Veterans Ave., Dartmouth, NS. A Celebration of Erma’s Life will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:00 am in the St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Rev. Matthew Sponagle presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundaton or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
