Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eric “Ike” Robert Marr, which occurred at St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home on Saturday, September 5th, 2020. Born 1941, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Harry and Thelma (Griffin) Marr. Eric worked as a Truck Driver with the City of Saint John for over 40 years. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed hanging out with his biker buddies.
Eric is survived by his loving and devoted wife Susan (Grieve) of 49 years; sons Darcy Marr (Angie) of Kingston Peninsula, Robbie Marr of Toronto, ON; daughters Laura Clark (Corey) of Baxter’s Corner, Tammy Marr of Saint John, Brenda Marr of Toronto, ON, Sue Anne Marr of Toronto, ON, Mary Marr (Salyssa) of Saint John; brothers Gary Marr (Linda) of Saint John, Paul Marr (Keri) of Sus; sister Brenda Haig of Saint John; grandchildren Cassie, Raymond, Ciara, Catlin, Cody, Andrew, Rachel, Rebecca, Austin, Malika, Dawson, Sadie and Jasiah; great grandchildren Nyla and Atticus; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Eric was predeceased by his son Eric, brothers Douglas and David and sisters Gloria, Ruth, Sharon and Debbie.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11th from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Rothesay Baptist Cemetery immediately following the service. Donations in memory of Eric may be made to The Joshua Group or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
