It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Ephraim Spurgeon Sacrey announces his passing. Ephraim was Promoted to Glory at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, April 6th, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Predeceased by wife – Jessie Sacrey (2015); grandsons – Troy Sacrey and Tommy Sacrey; parents – Edward & Violet Sacrey; parents-in-law – Mark & Nellie Sacrey; siblings – Lorenzo Sacrey (Daphne), Robert Sacrey (Daphne), Jack Sacrey (Theresa) and Edith Pardy (Edgar); siblings-in-law – Dawe Sacrey (Cavell), Ronald Sacrey, Benjamin Sacrey and Wade Campbell and nephews – Danny Sacrey and Rodney Regular.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are his children – Genavieve Rideout (Brian), Grande Prairie, AB, Judy Sacrey (Ivan), Ming’s Bight, NL; Dennis Sacrey (Peggy), Clarenville, NL, Dean Sacrey (Goldie), Baie Verte, NL, Donald Sacrey (Elaine), Ming’s Bight, NL, Katie Sacrey, Ming’s Bight, NL, Shawn Sacrey (Patricia), Ming’s Bight, NL, Darren Sacrey (Debbie), Corner Brook, NL and Nellie Saunders (Ivan), Ming’s Bight, NL; grandchildren – Tammy-Lee, Dion, Brady, Angie, Jonathan, Michael, Stephen, Renee, Jessica, Abigail, Riley, Andrew, Scottie and Joey; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings-in-law – Rita Burton (Melvin), Flossie Regular (Eugene), Sadie Simms (Cyril), Colie Collier (Bruce), Esther Campbell, Dyson Sacrey (Brenda), Stella Sacrey and Peggy Sacrey as well as a large circles of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre for their loving care of our Dad in these final days. A heartfelt thank you to our corps’ officers, Captains Neil & Dolores Abbott for their tender, loving care during our Dad’s illness and subsequent passing.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Visitation or Funeral Service. Captain Neil Abbott will conduct an Immediate Family Graveside Service at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Ming’s Bight, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Ephraim’s memory to The Salvation Army Citadel, Ming’s Bight, NL.
We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Ephraim’s memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Sacrey family.
