Obituary of Emma Clarke
It is with overwhelming sadness the family of Emma Clarke announce that she gained her angel wings in the arms of her loving parents at the Janeway Children’s hospital on March 22nd, 2020. Emma was 6 ½ years old and lived in Victoria.
Emma loved life, healthy or sick, she loved all adventures! Emma loved to sing, dance, paint, color, play with her many dolls and legos and spending time with her family and friends. Emma loved to dress up and wore fancy dresses and shoes as often as she could, she always sparkled! She loved to go camping and was always up for a game of hide and seek! During her journey at the Janeway she loved playing with all her nurses and child life staff, the adventures and pranks she had with you all will be cherished forever, you all certainly made an impact on her life. She lived life to the fullest all the time.
Emma is survived by her parents Glenn and Courtney (Blundon) Clarke and her “bestest brother in the world” Ryan Clarke. Emma also leaves to mourn her grandparents, Evelyn and Robert Clarke, Heart’s Desire; Eileen (Meema) and Bill Matthews, New Perlican; Frank Blundon (Mary Wong) of Mount Pearl; Glenn’s sister and Emma’s Auntie Jenn and Uncle Corey Butt and Emma’s only cousin Hannah Carbonear; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins of Glenn and Courtney’s – special Cousins Jillian Balsom (Emma’s Godmother) and Catherine Balsom Pennell (Blair Pennell) of St. John’s, and special cousin Gwen (Blundon) Parsons, John, Avery and Carly of Paradise, all of whom were such a wonderful support to Emma through the past 2 years. Close friends Krystle Drover (Emma’s godmother), Dean, Claire, Lily Drover and Logan George of Kingston, NS; Jeremy Smith (Emma’s godfather), Trish and best friend Eve Smith, Western Bay; Renee MacGregor, Torquil, Kelton, Landen and Isla MacGregor, Stonehaven, Scotland; Amanda, Brian, Avery, and Landon Critch of Paradise. Emma also gained many friends on her journey, Ronda, Natalia and Hayden Williams, Labrador City; Sharon Penney, Shawn, Damien and Sophie Smale, Goose Bay; Kelly Earle and Sammi Jo James, Point Leamington; Joanne Mayo and Rianna Brenton, Burin, just to name a few who touched our lives. Also survived by a large circle of family, friends and supporters.
Emma fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past 2 years and made a lasting impression on those she met on her journey. Emma was a fighter to the end and always wore a big smile throughout all the surgeries and treatments. She was brave beyond words. Even on her worse days she had a smile and a laugh or giggle at something. Her smile lit up the room. She sparkled!
