1924-2020
Emily Marie Mather of Beresford, formerly of Newcastle, wife of the late Lloyd Mather, passed away at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Bathurst, NB on Tuesday April 14, 2020 at the age of 95. Emily was the daughter of the late Theodore and Evelyn (Duguay) Gallant.
Emily was a retired clerk from Pharmasave in Newcastle. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 10 and also a member of the Newcastle Senior Citizen’s Friendship Club.
Emily is survived by two daughters: Joyce Mather of Newcastle, NB; Janice Poirier (Bruno) of Beresford, NB; one grandchild: Chloé Poirier and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Lloyd, Emily is predeceased by one sister: Anita Cooper and two brothers: Eulas and Romeo Gallant.
Due to the Covid -19 Virus there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery at a future date.
As expressions of sympathy, in Emily’s memory, donations may be made to your local Food Bank.
