Obituary for Emil Nahdee
NAHDEE, EMIL “EM” LAIRD, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at his home at the age of 66. Em was born July 22, 1954, on Walpole Island, Ontario, Canada, the son of Bernard and Mildred (Armstrong) Nahdee. He was a member of Walpole Island First Nation. Em loved to travel and play guitar. He also enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and playing darts. Em is survived by his wife Lori Nahdee of Mt. Pleasant; children Darnell “D.J.” Nahdee of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, Emil “Coolie” Nahdee of Mt. Pleasant, Cinthia Nahdee of Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada, Abigail “Abbie” Nahdee (Leroy Shenoskey) of Mt. Pleasant; step-son Alphonse Aquash; grandchildren Danielle, Hunter, Darian, Destiny, Dakota, Jayme, Sequoia; adopted grandson Roman Hart; great-grandchildren Athena and Axia; siblings Charlene “Qua” Nahdee, Norman (Rhonda) Nahdee, Virgil (Maxine) Nahdee, Bernard (Michele) Nahdee, Jarvis (Isabel) Nahdee, Abigail “Abee” Nahdee-Southgate; special nieces and nephews, Jr. and Molly Nahdee and kids, Aaron (Jackie) Graverette and kids. Em was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John “Minton” Nahdee, Maenard “Tex” Nahdee, Reginald “Gus” Nahdee; brother-in-Law Jeff Colwell; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Community visiting will be held at HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 5-7pm. A graveside service will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 11am at Highbanks Cemetery, Walpole Island.
