Elvin’s Obituary
ATKINSON, Elvin Carroll- Barrington Passage, It is with great sadness we announce Elvin Carroll Atkinson of Barrington Passage passed away peacefully on February 12, 2020 at 84. Born June 15, 1935 in Port La Tour, he was the son of Addie Louise (Smith) and Edward “Leslie” Atkinson. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Atkinson and Bernadine (John) Babin; his grandchildren, Luke, Rebecca, and Jake; great-grandchildren, Noah, Everleigh, and Scarlet; and sisters, Ruby and Dolly. He was predeceased by his former companion, Violet Smith; his parents, Addie and Leslie; brothers, Marshal, Harold, Clinton, Addison, Francis, Sheldon, Percy, Ronald, Leslie; half-brother, Vincent Worthen; and sister, Isaline. In his younger years Elvin was a fisherman and worked on the MV Bluenose. He liked motorcycles, rabbit hunting, dancing at the Wedgeport Legion, ice cream, and chocolates. He was an avid fan of Charlie Pride and was happy to get to see him in person. Before he was bed ridden he loved to go for drives and would always try to go to the West Head Take Out for a seafood platter. He was known to so many people and even those who didn’t know him would see him pushing Violet’s wheelchair along the sidewalk on their way to Sobeys. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be no memorial service by request.
