Obituary of Elva Jorgensen
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elva Jean Jorgensen, wife of the late Eric Jorgensen which occurred on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at the Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Viola (Godfrey) Arthurs.
Elva graduated from Saint John High School. In 1954 she moved to Sus where she started working at Thorne insurance company and then worked for GE Barbours Company as an accountant for over 30 years.
Her hobbies included playing bridge, knitting, curling and listening to music. Elva was a very social lady.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Young and her husband Kurt of Woodstock, NB; son Paul Jorgensen and his wife June of Sus, NB; grandchildren: Brock, Drake (Kelsey), Aaron (Kristin), Amanda (Peter); great-grandchildren: Addison, Cameron; sister Doreen Campbell and her husband James; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Elva was also predeceased by her sister Frances Shaw and Brother Burton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176). A Service celebrating Elva’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00pm from Wallace Community Chapel.
