Ellen Elizabeth Allen Boyd Thursday August 15th 2019

Ellen Elizabeth Allen (nee Boyd), age 80, passed away unexpectedly on August 15th 2019 at Stratford General Hospital.
A long-time Stratford resident and a retired registered nurse, Ellen was very active in the community as a volunteer and a dear friend to many. In recent years, she was a member of the Avon Mennonite Church, the Indigenous Neighbours Outreach group, and the Greenwood Choir. She loved to sing and was with the Stratford Concert Choir for years. She would often join evensong at local churches in cities and towns wherever she was travelling in Canada and abroad. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Robert (Bob) Allen, her sister Pat Britton (Ken), step brothers Don and Doug Lynn and families, and her four children, Susan Brodhagen (Brad), Lori Tiemens (George) David Ross (Rebecca), and Peter. She is fondly remembered by her former husband Paul Ross (Eleanor), her stepchildren Brian and Darlene, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many close friends.
A celebration of her life will take place on September 21 at 11 am at Avon Mennonite Church, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford. Ellen graciously chose to participate in the body bequeathal programme at the University of Western Ontario.
