Obituary
BOAM, R. Ellen – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and dear friend Ruth Ellen on Monday, January 27th, 2020, in her 80th year. Loving mother of C. Travis Boam of St. Thomas, Darcy J. Boam of London. Dear grandmother of Lynsey (Brady) Aarssen and Dustin Boam, both of London. Great grandmother of Lillia and Adele Aarssen. Cherished aunt of Kolleen (Jeff) Hickman of London, Rick (Nancy) Kennedy of Strathroy, and Kollin (Debbie) Kennedy of Komoka. Ellen will be greatly missed by her long-time friend for over 49 years, Anne (Brian) Taylor of Abbottsford, B.C. Ellen was a past President of the London Chapter of the Canadian Liver Foundation. She was a volunteer for many years at the Centre of Lifelong Learning, a past member of the Happy Hoofers Tap Dance Group, and a Range Officer at E.E.S.A. Ellen loved life to the fullest, always taking some course or enjoying an activity. She participated in Bullseye Shooting, billiards, golf, cooking, crafts, fencing, sewing, many types of dancing, and games including Lumosity, bid euchre or learning another language (Spanish). Following with Ellen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519-539-0004).
