Obituary of Elizabeth Friesen
Betty passed away peacefully at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris, Manitoba, November 16, 2020. Our dear Mom is now in the hands of her beloved Saviour, Jesus, and with her love, Johnny.
Betty was born June 9, 1924 in Arkadak, Russia. She moved to Canada in 1925 and grew up in Schoenwiese, Manitoba. She met the love of her life, Johnny, in 1946 and they were happily married for 70 years. They were an example of love to all those who knew them.
Betty was active in her community and was loved wherever she went. She served in her church, many prayer groups, and Christian Women’s Club. She volunteered in many places like 4-H, and the Valley Ag Society. She was an accomplished speaker, drove school bus, curled, taught driver education, and wrote articles for the Carillon News. Betty worked tirelessly alongside her husband on their family farm in Ste Elizabeth.
She welcomed people into her home with open arms and a delicious meal. If you ever needed prayer, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on you could count on her. Her true passion was her love for God, her faith, her family and her friends. The best way to describe Betty was as a prayer warrior and a Proverbs 31 woman.
She will be lovingly remembered by her six children and spouses: Linda (Werner) Pauls, Suzanne (Ulf) Kyra, Randolph (Nora) Friesen, Barbara (Daryl) Loewen, Jeff (Catherine) Friesen, Allyson (Roland) Relf. She is also remembered by 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
“His Lord said unto him well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of the Lord” Matthew 25:21
Thank you to the Red River Lodge for their compassionate care for our mother.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elizabeth
