Elizabeth (Louise) Krahn
November 27, 1924 – January 15, 2020
Louise is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings,
Irene (Menno Friesen), Ernie (Annabelle) Krahn and her sister-in-law Helga (Alvin)
Krahn and their children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Elizabet
Krahn, and by her sister Madeline (Abe) Martens and her brother Alvin (Helga)
Krahn. Louise’s early years were spent on the family farm near Glenbush, SK
where she attended the Mennonite Brethren Church. As a teenager, she realized
her need to accept Jesus’ forgiveness and give her life to Him. Although she
was single and had no children of her own, she loved children and for many
years faithfully served God by teaching Sunday school. She also loved her
nieces and nephews and showed great interest in their activities and well-being.
It was a difficult transition when her parents sold the farm
and moved to Saskatoon where Louise had to leave behind her farm garden, and
the animals she loved to adjust to city life and instead pursue a full-time
career as a seamstress at Clark’s Draperies and later at Sears.
In her retirement, Louise moved to Bethany Manor, but when her
health began to fail, she had to move to a care home. She spent the last 8
years at Oliver Lodge, where she received loving, quality care and even
welcomed her great great nieces and nephews’ visits during her last Christmas.
There will be a viewing for the family on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 7:00 pm at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny.
