Obituary
It is with sadness we announce that Elizabeth (Miss Lizzy) entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 84.
Mary Ann Elizabeth George (nee Dunstan), affectionately known as Miss Lizzy or Bebet, was born and raised in Wesley, Dominica. She later moved to live in New York and Canada where she was more affectionately known as Sister George, Georgie and Granny. She well renowned for her great sense of humour and her ability to make others laugh. Elizabeth, as she preferred to be called, was an amazing actor who had great theatrical skills. She captivated her audience with her sense of humour and there never was a dull moment in her presence. She loved music, dancing and singing and could sing Soprano, Alto, Tenor and even Bass. She loved gardening, nature and the outdoors. Some of her other passions included washing by hand and sewing, but most of all she loved family and God. She enjoyed her grandchildren, made friends easily and loved to keep in touch.
She is survived by her children Henderson Henry (Beverly), Cecil George, Dr. Clemon George (Dr. Stanley Read), and Georgina George; her 6 Grandchildren: Nichol, Cecil Jr., Joelle, Jerelle, Jeff, and Naomi; her 6 great grandchildren; siblings Ann, Rosa, MaryRose, Gabriel, and Dytes Dunstan; Sylvia Castor, Flora Archer and Vera Frank of Wesley; her extended family: Walford, Walston, Fairer, and Florence Allister; many nieces and nephews including AnnaRose, Jno.Baptiste, Trevor and Eldica Dunstan; special friends Noelin Felix, Florette Telemacque of Wesley and Olive Murray, Ike Carl and Annie Banfield Charles of New York; many relatives and friends here and abroad including Amourlyn Henry and family, Dodds, Greenaway, Kelsick and Valmond family of Wesley; Claristina Williams, Mado Bully and Edline Joseph; members and friends of the Seventh Day Adventist congregation in New York (Berean S.D.A) Wesley, Quebec (QC), Lacombe (AB) and Millwoods All Nations Church in Edmonton Alberta.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter Jonelle Bristol, husband Clement George of Roseau; parents Frank Dunstan and Stephanie Dodds; as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
A private family Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home with the Interment Service following at Forest Home Cemetery in Ponoka.
