Elizabeth Campbell Aiken:
Surrounded by her loving family, passed peacefully into the presence of her Dear Lord on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late William Aiken (2017). Loving and devoted mother of Dr. Geoffrey Aiken (Nita) of Toronto and Yvonne Curragh (Colin) of Petrolia. Cherished and much loved grandmother of Julian Aiken (Galina), Eric and Craig Curragh. Survived by brothers Andy Wylie (Eileen), Bertie Wylie (Inez) and sisters Ruby Wylie, Eileen Davison (Uel) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother David Wylie and sisters May Wylie and Ethel Kennedy. Fondly remembered by treasured family and friends in Northern Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.
Elizabeth (Lily) had a beauty and a radiance that spanned her entire life, from fresh faced farm girl to aged matriarch. When she smiled in your direction you knew that you were loved! It is no mystery that her husband of sixty years loved her so!! Lily’s beauty ran deep beyond the physical. In our lives, under her influence, we too understood love and the meaning of innocence. The kind of innocence that is only possible when it comes from an untainted heart. Never was there an angry outburst! Her expression of care often came in the form of delicious food which many family and friends enjoyed over the years at her table. Her Irish baked goods and savory Sunday dinners belied the simple farm inspired cuisine. Her hospitality was withheld from no one. While now in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, her special touch and loving kindness will forever be remembered.
A private family service will be held. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467.
