It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the
peaceful passing of our loving mother, Eileen Elizabeth (Cleghorn)
Cosman on Saturday, May 2nd at York Care Centre
in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was the eldest daughter of Walter
and Jenny (Reagon) Cleghorn of McAdam, New Brunswick.
She will be remembered and dearly missed by her
children, Donna Phillips (Steven), Heather Berry (John)
and Walter Jr. Cosman (Alynn) and her chosen
daughter, Judith Tonks-O’Rourke as well as her
seven grandchildren, Chris (Andrea) , Amanda (Kyle) and
Dylan Phillips, Kaitlynn Berry, Emma and Sara Cosman and Sam Glennie
(Ashlee) and six great grandchildren; Ryder, Makaila, Kenzie, Brooks,
Isabella and Grayson.
She is also remembered and dearly missed by her siblings,
Edward Cleghorn (Evelyn), Gladys Varney (Maurice, predeceased), and
Guy Cleghorn (Joyce) as well as her special Aunt Kay Messer. She will
be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members
that she touched along the way. She was a motherly figure to so many
in the community.
She is joined in heaven by her devoted husband of 43 years,
Walter Wallace Cosman (deceased in 2003) and their eldest daughter,
Theresa Lynn Cosman who died at birth in 1961. She is also joined by
her parents Walter and Jenny Cleghorn and many other close friends and
relatives.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the
staff at Integrity Home Health Care Services, Hawkins House, York Care
Centre, Dr. Andrea Hickey, Dr. Sheldon Wood and Pastor Norm McDonald
for all the care, love and support they gave to our mother over the
last few years . It was greatly appreciated.
Eileen enjoyed her family, especially the little
ones. “Let Nana show you how it’s
done” is something we heard often. She also gained great
comfort in her religious faith as well as from her many support groups
she attended in the community.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to
the Capital Region Mental Health & Addictions Inc. or York
Care Foundation Inc.
Due to Covid-19 we will be holding a small private service
followed by burial at Rockland Cemetery in McAdam . Bishops
Funeral Home at 540 Woodstock Road has been entrusted with the
arrangements and the on line sharing of the memories and condolences
can be made at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Eileen Cosman 19392020..
