Edwin Murray’s Obituary
LINACY – Edwin Murray MacDonald, 75, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Linacy, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 12, 2020 in the Manor, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Clarence Edwin Kent and Margaret Murray (Kirk) MacDonald. In his late teens, Murray was employed as a welder with the former Maritime Steele Company. In 1967 he joined the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation, retiring in 1999. During this time, he was also employed with Pictou County Excavating and Koszkulics Excavating. Murray owned and operated Linacy Bulldozing 1977 – 1985. Throughout his life, he was most happy working in the forestry industry, having been connected since a young age, when he worked with his brothers.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity and enduring faith in his Lord.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Erika Marie K. (Schumacher), Linacy; daughter, Ingrid (Trevor) Wise, Linacy; son, John (Joan) MacDonald, MacPherson’s Mills; grandchildren, Ava Marie Burns, Alsa Marie Wise, Chandler Ross MacDonald and Jayden Murray MacDonald; sisters, Barbara McDonald, Halifax; Marion (Frank) MacLaughlin, Sherbrooke; brothers, Alex “Sandy” (Liz) MacDonald, Linacy; Kent “Bubs” MacDonald, Linacy; Graham (Karen) MacDonald, Linacy; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, John and Anna Schumacher; sisters-in-law, Elsa, Evelyn and Betty; brother-in-law, Grant “Sonny” McDonald.
The family will receive visitors Noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow with Words to follow by Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson.
Murray’s family wish to thank the Glen Haven staff for the wonderful care he and they received, especially the River Glen unit.
