DEIS, Edwin
On Saturday, December 12, 2020, Edwin Deis lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Gail, his two children Sherry Fedoroff and Jason Deis, his brother James (Regina), his sister-in-law Kathy (Brandon, MB), his grandchildren Abby Fedoroff, Ben, and Joey Deis and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Eva, and his brother David. Edwin was born on November 26, 1945 in Maple Creek, SK. He grew up on a farm south of Brandon, in Nesbitt, Manitoba. Edwin left the farm after high school and began his banking career in 1963. After 48 years of working in the banking community, Ed retired and became the financial administrator for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon for 10 years. Edwin was a spiritual man and was very active in the church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and going to McDonalds for coffee in the mornings to solve all the world problems with his buddies. Ed was a self-proclaimed handy man who could fix and build most things around the home. He will be dearly missed by all his family, friends and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s name to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital (St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, 1702 20th St. W., Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9) or the Royal University Hospital Foundation (103 Hospital Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8).
