In memory of
Edward Mortimer James Brodie
June 14, 1933 – September 18, 2020
Resided in Kamloops, BC
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Brodie, 87, of Kamloops, BC on Friday, September 18, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.
James (Jim) was born on June 14, 1933 to Edward Brodie and Marry Ann Clark in Bishopton, Scotland. In 1951, he graduated from high school at Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow and then moved to Canada where he started a new chapter in life. Jim became a Canadian citizen. He had a brief career as a police officer in Edmonton, Alberta. He then followed a life time career in mining, building bridges, roads and other construction jobs.
When he was not working, he enjoyed being at home listening to Scottish/Irish music, fishing, gardening, soaking up the sun and keeping busy with projects around the house. Jim took great pride in all his hard work and always took the time to help anyone with no payment other than a hand shake and a smile. We will miss him dearly and he will be forever in our hearts.
Jim was predeceased by his twin brother, John Clark Brodie. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dianne Brodie and their son, Terry (Jennifer); his children Katherine (Allan) and James (Janet); and 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of James Brodie to the Terry Fox Foundation.
