Obituary
Edward was born in London, England on February 21, 1927 and grew up with his one brother, Frederick. In his younger years he loved going to dances, playing soccer and swimming. Ed joined the Royal Marines and was an active member during wartime.
He worked in sales and small repairs for James Walker Goldsmith and Silversmith Ltd. The firm was originally established in 1823, but considerably expanded by Sidney Sanders from 1920 onwards into the second largest multiple retailer of jewelry and silverware in Britain.
Edward married Jean after the war and they immigrated to Canada and became Canadian citizens. Their two fine sons, Craig and Terry, were born in Canada. After his beloved Jean died in 2010 he married Wenda and they lived very happily for the rest of his life. Edward made his transition very peacefully in Trinity Care Home on February 5, 2020.
Ed was a soft-spoken man who was a good judge of character. He could tell if he liked people by the way they spoke to him and if they used good manners. He loved animals and always had a cat or a dog. Together with his second wife, Wenda, he enjoyed cruises and visiting England and the Channel Islands. Edward was a popular man and was well respected by everyone.
Ed will be sadly missed by his second wife, Wenda and his two sons, Craig (Teresa) and Terry (Lisa).
At Ed’s request there will be no formal service.
