Obituary
Edward Deibel born June 18 1932, at 88 years young, passed away peacefully in the afternoon of November 24, 2020 at Nipissing Manor.
Predeceased by his wife Phyllis (2012). Loving father to his three(3) sons – Melvin , Gary (Joyce) and Darrell (Lynn). Grandfather to Scott, Nikki (Kyle Jones), Melanie, Arianne and Cedric. Great grandfather to Keira, Lucas, Azalea and Beau.
Edward is survived by 1 sister Theresa Reiss and predeceased by 6 brothers Ambrose, Jack, Steve, John, Rudy, Carl and 2 sisters Eva and Helen. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Edward had many memorable activities and jobs during his life. Working at Bell Canada, Owner/operator of Arizona Motel and Apollo tent and trailer park, Chairman of North Bay Winter Carnival, Alderman for North Bay to name just a few.
His passion was the Northern Heritage Party of which he was the founder in 1977. He travelled Northern Ontario in the late 1960s and early 1970s to promote the idea of creating the NOHP in a quest to have at least 50 per cent of all natural resources to be processed and manufactured in Northern Ontario.
Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, Edward will be cremated with a dedication that will be held at Terrace Lawn Cemetery at a time to be determined in the new year – possibly around the weekend of his birth June 18.
