Edward Cecil Hughes Saturday August 22nd 2020

Hughes, Edward Cecil – Passed away peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, August 22, 2020 at the age of 89 years. Cherished husband of the late “Betty” (nee Smith, 2004). Loving father of Sharon Hughes (Marcel Gagnon), Susan Hammond and Kathryn Dubik (late Ted). Proud grandfather of Katrina (Will); Angela (Mike), Christine; Sarah, and Amanda (Dean) and great grandfather of 8. Predeceased by his brothers Bernice, Chuck and Jackie. Brother in law of Sylvia Winning, Fran and Jean Hughes. Uncle Ed will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Ed was an avid participant in the Lang Steam and Antique shows. He enjoyed restoring mahogany classic boats. He recently found a new passion in making to scale miniature boats. Ed could be often found doing complicated puzzles, designing and manufacturing engines run by steam, fishing, bird watching and shining up his own mahogany boat. A graveside funeral service will be held at TRENT VALLEY CEMETERY, Hastings at 3:30pm on Saturday, August 29, 2020. In memory of Ed, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
