It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Edward Arthur McGowan. On Thursday October 22, 2020, at the age of 81 years, Edward took his final breath and entered Heaven’s Gates where he was greeted by his loved ones who arrived before him, including his parents Edward and Muriel McGowan, his brothers Frank and Stevie McGowan, his daughter Debbie Rodgers, his son Michael Rodgers, his grandson Derrick McGowan and his great grandson William Cameron.
Born on September 8, 1939, Edward leaves behind his doting wife of almost 40 years, Mary McGowan, his siblings Patricia Gerardo, Chris McGowan, Kathy Young and Dina McGowan, his daughters Vicki Chiasson, Laurie Simpson, Connie Rodgers, Tabetha McGowan and Kathy McGowan, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren as well as a large extended family of nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly.
Edward was a true family man who enjoyed camping and picnics in the park, bbqing burgers n’ dogs and roasting marshmallows around a bonfire, and just simply sitting around the kitchen table telling stories, both true and those of fictitious tale. He was in his glory when surrounded by his family and friends.
A huge personality, Edward will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. While we wish we could have a large send off for Edward, we are limited due to the Coronavirus restrictions. When the weather is more favourable, and Covid19 is but a memory, we will host a Celebration of Life where all will be welcomed.
May we forever remember his smile and find laughter in retelling his stories for years to come.
Fly high with Angels, Dad… you are home.
