Obituary of Edith Huff
Huff, Mary “Edith” (nee Mundy)
Passed away peacefully in her 100th year at the John Noble Home in Brantford, February 1st, 2020. Married for 41 years to the late Leonard C. Huff (1985), Staff Sergeant on the Brantford Police Force.
Survived by her brother Lloyd Mundy. Predeceased by her parents, Roy and Cora (Anderson) Mundy and sisters Bernice Roberts and Beryl Mowbray.
Loving mother of Sharon Warmington and Larry (Heidi) Huff. Cherished grandmother of Cynthia (John) Craig, Sandra (Cory) Hill, Heather (Justin) Sinding, Andrea and Kevin.
Edith will be sadly missed by her eight great grandchildren Vanessa, Olivia, Nathan, Leah, William, Sarah, Aubrey and Nolan.
Edith grew up in Wingham, Ontario and worked as a teen in the family business, Mundy’s Grocery Store. She later was a telephone operator at the local phone exchange in Wingham. Edith moved to Brantford after marriage and worked as a switchboard operator at the Holstein-Friesian office until the birth of her children. She enjoyed playing cards, oil painting, knitting and various crafts while raising her family.
A special thank-you to the staff on Brant Terrace at the John Noble Home for their care and attention. Cremation has taken place and a spring interment will be held at Wingham Cemetery. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at the BECKETT – GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, 519-752-4331, on March 27, from 1 – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the John Noble Home would be appreciated by the family.
