Edgar Maillet
1941-2020
RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Edgar Maillet 79, of
Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully, after a lenghty
illness at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche on
Saturday, April 25, 2020. Born in Cap-Lumiere, he was the
son of the late Ferris Maillet and late Anita (Maillet)
Maillet.
At a very young age Edgar became a fisherman owner, a career
that spanned until 1983. During the winter time off, he
worked for a number of years for LeBlanc & Royle as a tower
high rigger. In 1983 he went onto to his second career with
the Canadian Coast Guard, a career he occupied until 2005.
His retirement consisted of time spent at the hunting camp and the
moose herd must be in a relaxed mood now.
Edgar will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Jeanine Gauvin
(Raymond) of Moncton, Marie-Stella (Joe Mourant) of
Richibouctou-Village; one brother, Jean-Guy Maillet (Odette) of
Richibouctou-Village; three step-children, Christine Gardner (Dave),
Sean Deighan, Paul Kiggins; his uncle Zoel Maillet; many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Elizabeth (Deighan) Maillet and two infant
brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at
4:00 pm at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church in
