Obituary
Johansen, Edgar (1928-2020)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on Thursday October 15th 2020 at Casselholme at the age of 92, with his family by his side. Edgar was the devoted husband to Vivian. He is survived by his son Jack, stepson Gord grandchildren Darin and Freya and great grandchild Haliey and sister Marjorie, six nieces and five nephews. Edgar was predeceased by his parents Johannes and Jorid, his first wife Norma, his son Douglas and by brothers Arnold, Lennie, Rolf and Johann (Johanny). Edgar worked at CIP in Temiscamigue in his early years. He left CIP and purchased White Pine Lodge in Kipawa and eventually the Kipawa Hotel which he owned and operated for several years. After which he became a real estate agent working in Quebec and later in Ontario. He retired from Century 21 in North Bay in 2000. Edgar was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most importantly being at his camp on lake Kipawa. The family would like to thank Dr. Prinz and the wonderful, caring staff at Casselholme, birch street, second floor. Due to the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring. Donations to the Alzheimer’s society or to the Heart and Stroke foundation will be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
