Obituary of Earl Gallagher
Surrounded by loved ones, the passing of Joseph “Earl” Gallagher, husband of Evelyn (Melanson) Gallagher of Fredericton, NB, occurred on October 28, 2020 at Hospice House Fredericton following a short illness. Born on April 1, 1934 in Bathurst, NB, he was a son of the late William and Ina (White) Gallagher. Earl worked as a millwright for St Ann Nackawic mill and was a member of the Nackawic Lions Club. Earl enjoyed living a quiet life providing for his family and community.
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Earl is survived by his daughter, Paula Gallagher (Gregory Adams) of Bathurst; son, Terry Gallagher (Katherine Hunter) of Simons; grandson, Matthew Earl Hunter Gallagher, granddaughter, Rachel Hunter; siblings, Rachel, Marilyn (Charles) and Roger (Tina); sisters-in-law, Rosanne, Linda and Eunice; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, William Jr (Murielle), Oscar (Hazel), Albert, John (Lorette), Leo (Lyla), David, Bernard, Robert and Blanche (Don); brother-in-law, Peter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of York Funeral Home. At Earl’s request, there will be no pubic visitation or service. A private interment will take place at a later date in Bathurst, NB. For those who wish, the family would like remembrances directed to Hospice House Fredericton to help with the excellent care they provide. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
