Dr Robert H Deane April 18 1948 to January 8 2020

Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on the 8th of January, 2020 at the age of 71. Predeceased by his parents Owen and Penelope of South Africa and his wife Peggy. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his three loving children Laura, Andrea and Richard, his loving companion Karen Stewart-Williams, brother David of Australia as well as a large circle of extended family, good friends and medical colleagues. He fought a short battle with cancer, kind and gracious to the end. His life was dedicated to helping and healing his patients, touching lives in his home country South Africa, the U.K. and for 37 years as an orthopedic surgeon at the Janeway Children’s Hospital. He will be fondly remembered by all for his charm, contagious smile, and cheerfulness. The family would like to thank the staff of the Health Sciences Center, 4 North A, in particular, Dr. K. Downton, for their compassionate care and support. We will celebrate his storied life with friends and family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, January 10th from 3 – 5 pm and 7 – 9 pm.
