BOURDEAU, Jean-Robert – Dr. Jean-Robert Bourdeau passed away peacefully at Cornwall Hospice on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Reine Bouchard. Loving father of Sylvie Bourdeau (Barry Bettles), Claire Doyle (Steve), Alain Bourdeau (Isabelle Bourdon), Chantal Bourdeau (Neil Saungikar), Nathalie Bourdeau (Joe Emard) and loving stepfather of André-Marc Dallaire (Anni Boutin). Cherished grandfather of Alexandre, Julien, Catherine, Cédric, Janelle, Mélanie, Jérémie, Jonathan, Nicolas, Francis, Étienne, Annabelle, Myriam, Zachary and Vincent. Survived by his brother, Michel (Lucette), and sisters, Mireille and Manon (Gérald Sauvé). Robert was predeceased by parents Lionel and Fleur-Ange (née Larose) and by siblings Huguette and Yvon (Yvonne). He started his career as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Ottawa and Gatineau and retired from the medical profession after serving for 21 years as the Medical Officer of Health for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in Cornwall. An avid gardener, photographer and arts aficionado, he lived his life to the fullest. A visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home – Boulerice Centre, 218 Montreal Road, Cornwall on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:30 am. Refreshments to follow at the Agora Centre, 301 McConnell Ave, Cornwall. In lieu of flowers donations to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Society of Canada (www.pspsocietycanada.ca/) or the Cornwall Hospice (www.cornwallhospice.com) would be appreciated by the family.
