SHAVER, Douglas
Peacefully, Dad passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones at St. Joseph’s Villa on Friday October 2, 2020 at the age of 91. Loving companion of Vera Runions and husband of the late Lorraine (Bourgeois) Shaver. Dearly loved father of Doug Shaver Jr., Nancy Dupuis (Raymond), the most amazing grandpa to Kody (Rachel) and Brooke (Julian). Dearly loved step father to Kelly (Jeff) Kennedy and Kevin (Varnya) Runions, step grand children Veronica and Cass. Dad lived life to the fullest, his greatest happiness was being surrounded by his family. Doug was a proud and devoted father and grandpa. Son of the late Osborne and Pearl Shaver of Finch., Ontario and predeceased by his brothers, Willis, Harold and Hillard. Doug was a proud member of the Shriners and Masonic Lodge. He was the Past Master of Eastern Lodge 707, District Deputy Grand Master of Eastern Ontario and President of the Cornwall Shrine Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Villa or the Children’s Shriners Hospital of Canada would be appreciated . Sincere thank you to all the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, they treated dad with the most amazing love and compassion he so deserved. As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
