1943-2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas
Burns Watson of New Maryland, NB, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional
Hospital on April 10, 2020.
Doug was born in Bairdsville, NB, on February 17, 1943. He was the son
of the late Roy and Annie (Lockhart) Watson. Doug leaves behind his
loving wife of 28 years, Linda Watson (Briggs); his sister, Linda
Murchison of Four Falls, NB; along with many brothers and
sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Darlene Watson
(Kilcollins); his sister, Sheila; brothers Clifford and Lester Watson;
and his brother-in-law, Patrick Murchison.
Doug worked for NB Power for 32 years. In his retirement, he did not
slow down. he kept busy with carpentry and was always willing to offer
a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by many.
Because of the ongoing situation with the Covid-19 virus, a
celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date. This obituary
will be reposted at a later date once all the details have been
finalized.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the New Maryland United
Church or to your local food bank would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
