Obituary for Douglas John Webb
February 25, 1947 – October 21, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug at 73 years of age.
Doug was born in Birtle, Manitoba on Feb. 25, 1947. He grew up in Sidney, BC. As a young adult he moved to Valleyview where he resided until his passing. Doug was a committed family man who enjoyed nothing more than planning and getting together with his loved ones. He was known for his larger than life personality. Doug could always be heard, even if he wasn’t seen….but his heart was even bigger than his voice. He always remembered everyone’s name and made sure everyone felt welcome.
Doug is survived by his wife Raylene, daughters Darlene (Darcy) Wood, Karen (Glen) Look and Terrie Webb, step-children Jake (Jess) Pepper and Terry (Rob) Clarke, grandchildren Kaley Look, Deborah Wood (Blake), Kendra Look (Tyler), Breah (Logan) Dahm, Brittany (Dylan) Crocker, Andrew Wood, Evan Odegaard, Logan Pepper and Austin Pepper and great grandchildren Gavin, Olivia, and Colin Carter-Look and Abby Crocker. He is also survived by his mothers-in-law Penny (Helene) Reber and Ida Schissler, sisters Beverley Tingstad, Charlene (Arne) Johansson, Dorothy (Gunnar) Johansson, brother Rodney (Shawneen) Webb, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his wife Sharon (2003), his parents Jack and Edith Webb, sister Audrey Borgeson, brother Lesley York and twin infant brothers.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, October 28 @ 1 PM at the Valleyview & District Cemetery. Lunch to follow @ St. Rita’s Parish Hall. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance is by invitation only.
A larger memorial is planned for Summer 2021.
