It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of
Douglas Edward Rushton, age 85, of
Oxford, NS. Doug passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late Tom and
Jenny (Boutilier) Rushton.
Dougie was loved by all the staff, and the other residents in
the manor. He was truly a sweet man that people were drawn to and fond
of. He was a strong supporter of the PC party. He loved watching
hockey and baseball, either on television, or in
person.
He will be dearly missed by his brother Gordon (Edna)
Rushton, Summerside, PEI; nephews, Ronnie (Sharon), Kevin, Neil
(Cindy), Larry (Tammy), and niece Pauline.
Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen
Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167).
A graveside service will be held in the spring, when Doug will be laid
to rest with his parents in the Hillside Cemetery in Springhill,
NS.
Donations in memory of Doug may be made to the local charity
of your choice.
