Obituary of Dorothy Irene Claessen
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dorothy (Cruikshank) (Fanjoy) Claessen wife of the late Peter Claessen on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Palliative Care Unit, Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 90. Born on October 23, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Bella Fanjoy-Livingston.
Dorothy’s (Dottie) life was filled with adventure, love and a delightful sense of humour. She loved her weekend drives with family to all her favourite spots. In the last 6 years she discovered the internet which opened a whole new world to her. She travelled all over the world on the internet, listened to Professors speak on her favourite topic of Geology. She always had a beautiful smile and touched the lives of many.
Survived by her sons: Paul (Margo) and Eric; grandchildren: Christopher (Whitney) and Ashley (Keegan) Drummond; great- granddaughter: Isla Drummond; sister: Faith Sabean (George); sister-in-law: Marjorie Gregg and best friend Doreen DeBos. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; son: Karl; brother: David Gregg; sisters: Jenny Thorne, Ruth Roche and Lucille Titus. Thank you for all the visits and support in the last couple months.
Following cremation there will be a visitation on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 2-7 pm at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (506-634-7425). A private interment will be held at a later date. Remembrances to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
