JANUARY 6, 1949 – JUNE 11, 2020
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dorothy Ileane Bice at LHSC Victoria campus on June 11, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 72nd year. Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Scott and Jean (Cluness) Bice. She was the dear sister of George and Roberta (Keys) Bice.
Cherished aunt of Kelly (Jeff) Mutis, Debra Bice (Alex Yu), David (Stephanie) Bice, Robert Glenn, and Lisa (Paul) Lutowicz. Dorothy will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Carolyn and Julie Mutis, Thomas Yu, Abby and Ava Verwegen-Bice, Tyler Glenn, Kevin and Ian Lutowicz. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents and sister Marilyn (Bice) Glenn, brother-in-law Jim Glenn and great-nephew Nathan Glenn.
Dorothy graduated from Nursing College in 1970 and later obtained her Master’s Degree at UWO. She served many years with the Sarnia-Lambton and Middle-London Public Health Units. The latter part of her career was spent working with cherished colleagues and clients at the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middle. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Optimist Club of Byron. She enjoyed curling, golf, theatre, book club, fast cars, time spent with friends at the cottage, and trips to Stanstead, QC.
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery on June 20, 2020, family and friends are welcomed to join the service online at 2pm at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
Dorothy’s family is thankful for the support of many dear friends. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Optimist Club of Byron, London Health Sciences Foundation, or Wellspring-London and Regional.
