Mum passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully and quietly, in her residence at Saint Luke’s Place, Cambridge.
Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, a coal miner’s daughter, Mum moved to Ontario at the age of 20 living first in the hamlet community of Glen Christie then to Hespeler/Cambridge for next 70 years. Over the years she worked at a number of places in Hespeler/Cambridge including Greenhall Dye Works (the Mill), The Stamped and Enamel Ware and Willard’s Dry Cleaners. Meeting many new people and making many wonderful life long friends along the way. She has been very fortunate to have had her immediate family, her many nieces and nephews close to her for all these years.
We would like to thank the Nurses and Support Staff at Saint Luke’s Place for their kindness, caring and patience with Mum over her last couple of weeks. You gave her a feeling of being home again. Thank you.
She will be missed.
A private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetes’s Association would be appreciated by the family.
