It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doris Lynch announces her peaceful passing on November 22nd, 2020 at the age of 87. A bright light in our lives that will be forever missed.
Doris treasured her family as much as they treasured her. She is survived by sons Gary Lynch (Joanne) of Fredericton, Blaine Lynch (Lynne) of Miramichi, Danny Lynch (Sherrie) of Fredericton, and daughter Linda Maher (John) of Fredericton. Grandchildren Warren, Chris, Cameron, Tyler, Daniel and Josh all in Fredericton, Tanner and Kiara (Kia) in Miramichi, and great granddaughter Ally in Fredericton.
Sisters Flora Fields, Alice Breau (Fernand), and brothers Roy Savoy and Raymond Savoy (Sylvia). Doris is predeceased by her best friend and husband Louis, her loving daughter Susan, her parents Mary Benoit and Joe Savoy, brothers Dan Doucette and Emery Doucette.
Blessed with a sharp mind, quick wit and a tremendous spirit, Doris was quick to make a friend, and to make everyone feel welcome…to know her was to love her. She loved to dance, and until a few years ago, when she wasn’t on the dance floor with Louis, she often took to the stage to entertain others with her step dancing in local variety shows. Doris also loved to be in the kitchen, she spent many years creating beautiful wedding and other specialty cakes. She always loved trying new recipes, and making her classics, like her homemade bread and fudge which she loved to share with family and friends.
Doris was a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League, and of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic church. She had tremendous faith and this helped her through difficult times.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tatemichi and the palliative team of Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, the staff and residents of Eden Retirement Villa, especially good friends, Ethel and Gerty, whom she loved to laugh with. And to Ilka, for every moment you spent with Doris, we thank you.
To all her very close and wonderful lifetime family and friends of Miramichi, way too many to name, thank you for all the love and joy you shared.
Special thanks to Dr. Gerard Losier for the many years of exceptional care you gave to Doris, she thought the world of you.
