Doris Jane Hodgins (Woods) of Parkhill passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in her 89th year at the Chartwell Parkhill Long Term Care Residence.
Doris and Clark (2018) were married for 62 years and raised their family of Dianne Vermunt (John O’Neil), Karen (Tony) Timmermans, Kevin Hodgins (Donna Lumani) and Marilyn (Bill) Watson on the family farm in McGillivray Township. Doris leaves behind a legacy of 20 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren.
Doris is survived by sister Marjorie (Cliff) Martin and is predeceased by her brother Clarence (Julia) Woods and parents Victor and Ruby Woods.
Doris was the quintessential daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother in law. She grew up in an era filled with nostalgia and idealism raising a loving family who remained devoted to her; she can now rest in peace with her loving husband Clark.
Doris spent her life caring for others, spending much of her nursing career serving at local nursing homes and became the first Director of Nursing at Chateau Gardens, now Chartwell Long Term Care, when it was originally opened.
