Obituary of Doreen R. Torraville
Passed peacefully away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 14, 2020, Doreen Torraville of Victoria, age 78 years.
Predeceased by parents: George and Mary Payne; brothers: Forward, Kenneth, and Henry; sisters: Minnie Sheppard and Juanita Payne; parents-in-law: Charles and Mary Torraville; brothers-in-law: Lloyd Sheppard, Doug Collett, Claude Ellsworth, Samuel Evoy; sister-in-law: Florence (Ambrose) Cumby.
Leaving to mourn, her husband of 55 years: William; three daughters: Marilyn (Darren) King, Cathy Butt, and Nancy (Paul) Pynn; one son: Darren (Sandra); six grandchildren: Mark (Amanda), Sarah (Jeremy), Heather (Ian), Adam (Rebecca), Valerie (Jayden), and Kayla; three great-grandchildren: Hailee, Abagail, and David; four brothers: Alphonsus (Sandra) Payne, Laurent (Christine) Payne, Bryant Payne, and Willis (Lorna) Payne; four sisters: Sonora Collett, Betty Ellsworth, Jean Evoy, and Rowena (Gerard) Gilley; sisters-in-law: Mona Payne and Hilda (Jack) Hiscock; brother-in-law: Harold (Nellie) Torraville; special friends and trouting buddies: Daphne Cole, Mary Butt, and Pearl Cole; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Doreen was an avid volunteer with the Harbour Lodge Auxiliary and with the Royal Canadian Legion in Carbonear.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private visitation will take place at Noel’s Funeral Home, Carbonear. Funeral service at Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear by invitation only. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Doreen Torraville Memorial Fund, c/o 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
