Mom was an outstanding nurse, receiving her training at Chipman Memorial Hospital in St. Stephen, NB. She was proud to wear her white uniform and cap and wore it well. She finished her nursing career at Colchester Regional Hospital, retiring in 1980. Mom was also a skilled seamstress, making most of our clothes when we were kids. We were raised in a musical family and Mom taught herself how to play the piano and accordion. She also enjoyed quilting and knitting. We treasured the beautiful, meticulously crafted quilts that Mom made. Mom loved her bowling and she and Scott bowled for over twenty years. She also loved to dance.
Mom was very content living at Wynn Park Villa, North Wing, for two and a half years. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care given to Mom while she was a resident there. In addition, we would like to offer our sincere gratitude to Shalene, Diane, Joy and Kathy who provided exceptional end of life care to Mom and who couldn’t do enough to support us during this difficult time.
Donations may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family has chosen to have a service and interment at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro, NS.
