Callander, Donna Agnes Betty
1942-2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Callander on Thursday, March 12th, 2020. Donna left this earth after a mercifully short but courageous battle with cancer.
Donna Agnes Betty Carmichael was born in Chilliwack, BC on October 28th, 1942. She moved to Princeton at the age of two with her parents, Garth and Donna Carmichael and family. After high school, Donna met and married the love of her life, Bill Callander in 1963. They enjoyed 53 years of wedded bliss in Princeton before Bill’s passing in 2016.
Donna and Bill built a wonderful home together and filled it with a loving family. Left behind to mourn are her son Tom (Lori), daughter Kathy Spooner (Mike) and son David (Heather), her treasured sister, Dillys (Dave) Hodgson and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters-in-law and other loved ones.
Donna enjoyed many hobbies including growing a beautiful garden, home canning and painting ceramics. But her biggest love by far was her four grandchildren; Cody, James, Sierra and Quinn. They will treasure the time they had with their Gramma.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Black and the nursing staff at Princeton General Hospital for the care they gave to Mom and the compassion they showed to the family. Also, a special thank you to Donna’s best friend Linda Pratico, we are so thankful to have you in our lives.
For those that knew Donna, please join the family for a Celebration of Life and luncheon on Saturday, April 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Princeton Seniors Centre.
Mom – In life, we loved you dearly, in death, we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. I cried endlessly when you died but I promise, I won’t let the tears mar the smiles that you’ve given me when you were alive
